چکیده

CASE REPORT A 48-year-old woman presented with a sudden right flank pain radiating to her right groin. She was found to have a 5-cm upper pole angiomyolipoma of the right kidney 9 years earlier. Therefore, she had undergone open partial nephrectomy. Violation of the collecting system had been repaired using a 3-0 Vicryl. Tightness had been checked by administrating Indigo carmine through a ureteral stent. Surgical bed hemostasis had been achieved by 2-0 Vicryl running sutures and automatic nonabsorbable surgical clips (Autosuture Premium Surgiclip). The parenchymal bed had been then covered by absorbable bolsters. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient had been discharged from the hospital.

Migration of a Hem-o-Lok Clip to the Ureter Following Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy Presenting With Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms

We report a case of ureteral migration of a surgical clip after partial nephrectomy in which the clip was misdiagnosed as a ureteral stone. A 37-year-old woman had undergone laparoscopic partial nephrectomy of right renal cell carcinoma at another hospital 2 years previously. Postoperatively, she had gradually acquired lower urinary tract symptoms. Then, she complained of sudden right flank pai...

Robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy: surgical technique using a 3-arm approach and sliding-clip renorrhaphy.

INTRODUCTION For the treatment of renal tumors, minimally invasive nephron-sparing surgery has become increasingly performed due to proven efficiency and excellent functional and oncological outcomes. The introduction of robotics into urologic laparoscopic surgery has allowed surgeons to perform challenging procedures in a reliable and reproducible manner. We present our surgical technique for ...

Stone Formation from Nonabsorbable Clip Migration into the Collecting System after Robot-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy

We describe a case in which a Weck Hem-o-lok clip (Teleflex, Research Triangle Park, USA) migrated into the collecting system and acted as a nidus for stone formation in a patient after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy. The patient presented 2 years postoperatively with left-sided renal colic. Abdominal computed tomography scan showed a 10 millimeter renal calculus in the left middle pole. Af...

Clinical and paraclinical evaluation of partial nephrectomy using laparoscopy and open surgery in dogs: new suturing technique

Partial nephrectomy, using open surgery or laparoscopy, is a standard surgical approach to treat renal disorders. The objective of this study was to compare and evaluate the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy using figure eight ligation technique. Mixed-breed dogs were randomly dedicated for partial nephrectomy using laparoscopy (n=6) and open surgery (n=6). During 30 da...

Robotic renal hilar control and robotic clip placement for partial nephrectomy.

We demonstrate two techniques in this video clip that can be used when performing robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. First, we use the fourth arm of the robot with a long-tip grasper to occlude the renal artery during the resection of the mass. Second, we show a novel method for securing the mattress sutures when performing the repair of the kidney. Both maneuvers help to increa...
